I’m a dentist and entrepreneur. For nearly 20 years, I practiced traditional dentistry and I owned my practice for about 13 of those years. I truly loved helping people and building relationships with my patients and colleagues.
But over time, the long hours, physical strain, and constant responsibility started to take a toll on me. I was often exhausted, dealing with physical pain, and feeling worn down by the daily pace of it all. After a difficult life event, I went through a period of anxiety and depression that forced me to take a hard look at my life and the path I was on.
It was a scary moment, but it also became a turning point.
But over time, the long hours, physical strain, and constant responsibility started to take a toll on me. I was often exhausted, dealing with physical pain, and feeling worn down by the daily pace of it all. After a difficult life event, I went through a period of anxiety and depression that forced me to take a hard look at my life and the path I was on.
It was a scary moment, but it also became a turning point.
I began asking myself some bigger questions about health, longevity, and what it really means to build a life that feels sustainable and fulfilling. I started learning everything I could about improving my health and about creating financial stability outside of trading time for money.
While still running my dental practice, I immersed myself in financial and health education. Slowly, things began to change. I started feeling better physically and emotionally, and I began exploring different ways to invest and build income beyond my dental practice.
After a lot of reflection, I made the difficult decision to sell my practice in 2019. It wasn’t an easy choice after spending so many years becoming a dentist and building a business, but I knew it was the right step for the next chapter of my life.
Today, I’m grateful to have more flexibility with my time and the ability to spend meaningful time with friends and family. The journey also showed me how important it is to take care of both our health and our financial wellbeing.
That experience ultimately led me to create the Bored Dentists Club. My hope is to help others who may feel stuck in the same cycle I once did—by sharing what I’ve learned about health, longevity, and building financial resilience so they can create a life that feels balanced, intentional, and aligned with what matters most to them.
